Humpback Whales

Went whale watching with Avila Beach Whale Watching and had an amazing experience with the humpback whales feeding just outside the bay during their migration. I think we saw at least 6 unique whales on our trip, but one particular cow and calf pair stole the show that day.

They approached the boat and began swimming around us. The curious calf gradually approached closer and closer until it came up right alongside the boat. Unforgettable.
